I am inviting you to become an affiliate member of the Consumer Action Law Group (“CALG”) network. The purpose of the network is to refer top prescreened quality bankruptcy clients to member attorneys all over the country. As a result you can build a client base without incurring advertising costs and the overhead expense of preparing a petition. In addition, you will have an exclusive territory, in this case, the Eastern District of California, if you so choose. You will be the attorney of record as an affiliate attorney for CALG.

The potential bankruptcy client is screened and interviewed by our firm. If the client is retained, we will contact our affiliate attorney (you) if he/she wishes to handle the case. We will send you our initial interview form and advise you as to whether we believe the case should be filed as a Chapter 7 or 13. However, your input as to as to what Chapter should be filed, in the final analysis, will be your call. It is up to you how you wish to do your due diligence in meeting with the client, e.g. phone or in person.

In most instances, there will be a CALG paralegal in charge of gathering the documentation to prepare the petition and communicate with the client. The petition will be sent to you for approval. All you have to do is meet with the client to sign and attend the 341a hearing.

The bottom line is that will receive client without you having to spend the time interview and hoping that the client may retain you? All you have to do is spend due diligence time and go to the hearing(s) with the client.
